Death & Dying
Thursday 7.30am - 8.30pm
Make a note in your diary these teachings will be on 1 November, 8 November, 15 November and 22 November.
After these teachings you will have an opportunity to have a cuppa with Toby
We are extremely fortunate to have another series of teachings from Venerable Toby Gillies.
Often a taboo subject even for those who hold strong beliefs death & dying is natural and inevitable. His Holiness the Dalai Lama has referred to death as a change of clothes.
Death should be a smooth, peaceful process and with his wisdom of the dharma and Western perspective, Ven Toby Gillies will share a Buddhist view on death and dying.
This is a rare opportunity to learn how to have a virtuous state of mind in the moments before death and understand the stages of death and the mind - body relationship.
$120 per ticket ( please book now to avoid disappointment)

September 2018 - What the karma?
Venerable Toby Gillies has a unique and rare knowledge encompassing the full breadth and depth of traditional Tibetan Buddhism, having studied with a renowned Tibetan Geshe for 35 years.
What separates Ven. Toby Gillies from other teachers is his innate ability to meld, adapt and communicate the Buddha's message through his personal experience as a Western Buddhist Monk.
This four week course on Thursday evenings will explore the mysterious impact karma has on our lives.
This course will answer your questions. What is karma? How does it help me? How does it hinder me? How can I turn karma to gain the maximum advantage? Why do good people often seem to suffer more than evildoers.
And the bigger questions. How did we get here? Where do we go? What does it mean? Who is in charge? How does group karma affect the individual?
Once we know the workings of karma we can approach the specific meditations which directly change the results of karma. With this we discover our innate ability to shape our lives to the best possible outcome.
We can release ourselves from the grip of bad karma and reach enlightenment.
