Dr Katrina Bottomley PhD
I have been fortunate enough to have been introduced to Buddhist philosophy as a teenager as a result of my mother meeting His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1982.
Buddhist philosophy became an integral part of my mother’s parenting but it wasn’t until I was in my early twenties that I decided that Buddhism would become a significant part of how I live my life.
The philosophy has provided the tools and insight into dealing with all the challenges of life. I am a single parent of a beautiful teenage boy, and a psychologist working in private practice.
After completing my PhD some years ago, I now work predominantly with adolescents and their families, and young adults. Buddhism enhances my understanding of how the mind works and the underpinnings of many mental distortions.
Life can be truly magnificent and Buddhism opens our hearts to all the possibilities.
